Welcome to Serenity Music Tuition – piano and theory lessons on Wirral plus music tuition for everyone!

If you are looking for piano lessons on Wirral with a proven track record of 100% pass rate for piano exams and music theory exams, you have come to the right place! My name is Lynsey and I am the sole teacher at Serenity Music Tuition. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I am a fully qualified secondary school classroom music teacher (with PGCE in music), and, throughout my 25 year career, I have taught all age groups from age 11 to 18, as well as working in primary schools as part of the primary liaison programme. I have taught key stage 3, GCSE and A level and have been responsible for all results in these areas as Head of Music in five different secondary schools. As a secondary school teacher, I am fully trained in teaching students with neurodiverse needs such as ADHD and Asbergers. I have an honours degree (Bmus) and masters degree (Mmus) in music as well as achieving grade 8 piano by the age of 16 and grade 8 cello by the age of 18. I went onto study piano to diploma standard over the course of my degree level training being taught by professional concert pianists.

I have acted as musical director, conducted, arranged music and played piano for countless musical productions such as The Addams Family, Grease, West Side Story, Annie and Bugsy Malone. I have prepared and accompanied thousands of students for concerts, productions and GCSE and A level performances. I continue to tutor students for GCSE and A level as part of my work at Serenity Music Tuition with all students achieving grade 8 and 9 for their performance NEA. Some students also come to me for extra help with composition and have achieved equally high grades in these areas. I also run one class per week for two home educated children in which we cover the Key Stage 3 curriculum. I opened Serenity Music Tuition in 2021, whilst still working part time as a classroom teacher. I consider myself extremely lucky to have a thriving business with loyal students, some of whom are now working towards grade 8.

As a teacher, I think it is hugely important to balance earning a living (we all have bills to pay!) with ensuring lessons are affordable for those wanting to learn. This is why my lesson prices are amongst some of the cheapest on Wirral and, as a highly experienced teacher, I remain committed to providing high quality lessons a reasonable cost. This is why a 30 minute lesson costs just £15.

What started as a little business to provide piano lessons to students on Wirral has now grown to become a tuition business for everyone, even if you live outside Wirral! You can now find nearly 100 videos on music theory and a growing collection of recordings I have made of ABRSM pieces, to help my students to continue their learning at home. There are lots of free resources which you are welcome to download and print as well as free music notation png images from which you can create your own music resources. Everyone is welcome to learn at Serenity Music Tuition from the age of 6 onwards. My youngest student is currently Max who is 8 years old and working towards grade 2 and my oldest student is Mike who is 70 years old and working towards grade 8.
